Awards
The Tasmanian Craft Fair presents a range of awards each year recognising excellence in the fields of craft or arts. Exhibitors are automatically entered in any award for which they are eligible, with the exception of the Premier's Award, for which a specific piece of work must be entered (fee payable).
The Premier’s Award for Excellence
The winner will have demonstrated excellence of national/international standard, as measured by the quality of the work, to be considered in the context of the exhibitor’s overall presentation.
Winner: Stall 511 Benjamin Timber Studio (Tony Mercorella)
First Prize: $10,000

Second Prize: $2,000

Exhibitors entering the Premier’s Award receive a sign at their booth making visitors aware of their entry in the award. The winner has the opportunity to have a video and bio of their work and professional photos taken on site at the craft fair. There will also be post event promotion on the website and social media.
Best Working Exhibit Award
Winner: Stall 408 Ian Clare
Prize: $2,000
Sponsor: Tasmanian Alkaloids and Deloraine & Districts Community Bank
Criteria: The awards are directed towards exhibitors who, as part of their display, engage their audiences for education and entertainment, in showing the raw materials and skills they use and through talking to, and interacting with the public.
Stand Presentation Award
Winner: At Showground Nursery - Ad’s Fab’s Tasmania (Adam & Clarissa Horne)
Prize: $1,000
Sponsor: Deloraine & Districts Community Bank
Criteria: This award is for a well-designed display presented in an enticing format. Work of a high quality in any price range or medium will be presented in an informative and engaging way.
Imagining the site and designing the stand to maximise both product and audience engagement is an aspect of this award that the judging panel acknowledge as a challenge for each exhibitor.
First Time Exhibitor Award
Winner: 508 Danish by Design Fine Furniture (Thor Pedersen)
Prize: Certificate and $1,000
Sponsor: Rotary Club of Deloraine
Criteria: To acknowledge and encourage exhibitors who have never before exhibited at the Tasmanian Craft Fair and who demonstrate innovation and quality in their work, and present it in a professional manner.
Providores Award
Winner: Stall No 311 Persia’s Pantry (Arad Niksefat)
Prize: $1,000
Sponsored by: Brown Brothers Wines
Criteria: The exhibitor will be selling a product that is processed, and where possible, grown in Tasmania. The produce will be of high quality, with presentation, display and packaging all enticing to the senses.
