Deloraine, historically a rural community, set at the
foothills of the Great Western Tiers, with a population of 2500 people,
provides a unique experience for the visitor at Craft Fair time.
This nationally acclaimed community welcomes, entertains and caters for
30,000 people at the annual event. The Rotary Club of Deloraine is delighted
to facilitate the largest and oldest working art, craft and cottage industry
fair in the Southern Hemisphere. The Tasmanian Craft Fair plays an increasingly
significant role in the cultural and economic life of Tasmania and has
the ongoing support of the Tasmanian Government.
This event was judged the Meander Valley and Tasmanian Event of the Year for 2000. |
